Description of our house
Our lovely home is surrounded by an acre of beautiful fruit trees and landscaping. From the hot tub located right off the master bedroom you can sit under the giant redwood trees and look out at the stars at night. There are wonderful hikes nearby to the moon rocks or up into the giant redwood trees. The beach is a 5 minute drive away.
There is an apartment downstairs which is rented to a young woman and her son. Very nice people. She does a lot of the gardening.

Our neighborhoodThe house is in a rural tree studded setting on a hill overlooking the Monterey Bay. There are deer, rabbits, squirrels and raccoons around. There are vinyards and wineries close by. It is a quiet peaceful area within an easy drive of many tourist attractions, great shopping and wonderful cities and towns to visit.
The nearest town is Santa Cruz, a lovely beach and university town with wonderful artists, restaurants and shopping (15 minute drive). Santa Cruz is popular with surfers, mountain bikers and roller bladers. The Santa Cruz Beach boardwalk attracts the younger crowd. The beachesand mountains along with the elephant seals and butterflies attract nature lovers. During the summer Santa Cruz offers free concerts on the beach and wonderful theatre at the local colleges. Lovely Monterey is an hour south on the coast with picturesque towns like Carmel and and San Juan Batista close by for day trips. San Francisco is an hour and a half north up beautiful highway 1.

Something about ourselvesI am a single parent of a college age daughter. I work for the university in town. We love to travel and have traveled a lot in South and Central America. We're fun and easy to be with. My daughter is away at college during the school year (September through June) so I am open to a couple staying in her room while I am here. I speak Spanish and Portuguese well, I am just learning Italian. My favorite part of traveling is meeting new people and practicing language skills while getting to know them.
