My home is very comfortable, nicely furnished, and in a great location. The open kitchen and living room lead to a small decked back yard that is very suitable for outdoor enjoyment. There are 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the 2nd bedroom has a double bed with a peek of Monterey Bay. Attached single car garage has 2 bikes, tennis racquets,camping equipment, beach chairs,etc. for your use. While not set up for younger kids it may be suitable for an older teenager.
This home is available year round so non-simultaneous is an option, although we are looking for our time in Europe to be a summer exchange. A second condo is available in the San Diego Area (Solana Beach) from August 4 to August 11. This is a timeshare I own which is available every summer. Our exchangers from Switzerland combined time in Aptos and Solana Beach and loved it. One could stay there and then drive up the California coast to the Monterey Bay to stay in the Aptos home. Aptos, a quaint beach town, has a population of about 10,000 in a great central location on the Monterey Bay in Santa Cruz County,California. Santa Cruz has a thriving downtown, major university, interesting people and is known as Surf City. Also known for its cultural scene. My home is on a street with 11 houses in a residential area. The neighborhood is very quiet and friendly with a perfect location . I am 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from the redwood forest.
San Francisco is just 90 minutes north and Monterey/Pebble Beach/Carmel (gateway to the Big Sur Coast) are 40 minutes away. This location makes for day trips galore. Golden Gate Park in SF, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Pebble Beach, San Jose, the Pinnacle, etc. I provide an abundance of information for all to see and do.The mild weather and natural setting are the real attraction in this area. This makes it ideally suited for enjoying outdoor activities year round. Enjoy exploring beaches, mountains and coastal redwood forests. The opportunities for hiking, golfing, mountain biking,fantastic farmer's markets, fishing, boating,great wineries are endless. There are many nice restaurants, movie theatres, entertainment, and cultural events locally and in SF and Carmel. We both enjoy sports (watching and participating), walking and running on nearby beaches, and hiking in the nearby redwood forest state parks. ...
We look forward to exploring other countries, their people and their cultures. I have lived in Italy while attending school in the summer. We have both been to France and love exploring there or elsewhere. In the summer of 2006 we lived in France on 3 exchanges for two months. It was wonderful and very successful. We spent 2 summer months (2009) in France and Switzerland which was great. We also just spent 2 1/2 months in France this summer of 2011 on 3 different exchanges.
I am very excited to share emails with people interested in an exchange. I take great care of my home and will treat my exchange home with the same care. I have prepared a folder about my home, including all the great activities available in the surrounding area. One of my best friends lives next door and is available for assistance and information. She has a vacation home 45 minutes from Yosemite available for rent if this interests you.
