Description of our house

This is a light-filled, very spacious two-bedroom condominium with high vaulted ceiling in the living room. I am an artist living with my 12-year old daughter. I furnish my home minimally but amply to fit my needs for creating and playing with my daughter in the living room, which has a huge open area for that reason. We have a TV/VCR which we use to view DVDs only. We cook all the time (my daughter bakes) so our kitchen is well stocked.

Our condo is in a securely gated building. Neighbors are friendly and some are my friends. Nestled in an upscale neighborhood among hills of San Mateo, we enjoy safe walks, strolling to the park that is 600m away. The organic grocery store Piazza's in 2 minutes of walk away. 3 minutes drive takes you to a crystal spring river which is really beautiful. 10 minutes drive takes you to beautiful rollicking hills of Edgewood Hills next to the Canada Road, which has numerous combinations of hiking trails. 25 minutes drive takes you to San Francisco per se, where you find all the activities you heard about.(N.B., I used to live in SF per se and it takes 30 minutes to go from anywhere to anywhere else within the city, which you circumvent by going on the highways from San Mateo.) Two main highways 101 and 280 connects the Peninsula (where SM is) to SF, with 280 a really beautiful scenic drive. 13 minutes south takes you to the beautiful and cultivated Stanford University community. SM itself is the second largest city in the Bay Area outside of San Francisco. In addition to the beautiful scenery, it boasts fine dining and a quaint downtown. 15 minutes westward takes you to the Half Moon Bay, which edges the Pacific Ocean, with a modest beach and waves for surfing, as well as great seafoods. ![]() Something about ourselves

I am Michael, an artist who splits his time between San Francisco and Berlin. My daughter Dia will be 13 soon and is really into baking. Each year I stay in Berlin for up to 3 months, which is why this exchange is helpful :) I have had a successful exchange last year and really enjoyed it. I have traveled extensively and enjoyed seeing different people and ways of life. ![]()
