We have a spacious (2400sq ft or 230sq m), well kept home in an upscale and area near Silicon Valley. Trees, shrubs, flowers, herbs and manicured lawn surround the house. A large and inviting redwood deck is easily accessed through French doors from both our comfy sun room as well as the master bedroom. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely outdoor breakfast or barbeque dinner. We are fortunate to have quiet, yet friendly and helpful neighbors, most of whom work in high tech. A wide variety of shops and stores; grocery, drug, coffee, restaurants, and other specialty shops are within short walking distance.

Los Gatos is an attractive town of about 25,000 people situated at the base of the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. We enjoy a Mediterranean climate with summer temperatures averaging 80-85F, 26-29C. From May through September the skies are typically clear blue and rain is rare. It is perfect for every outdoor activity. The town center (5 min. by car or 15 min. by bicycle) is picturesque and with top notch restaurants, art galleries and shops. There is a local outdoor Farmers Market with local organic produce every Sunday morning and free music concerts the spring and summer. There are many day trips that can easily be done from here. The Pacific Coast and the town of Santa Cruz is only 30 minutes away. It is also known as Surf City, USA and was the birth place for surfing in the continental United States. 30 minutes south of there is the city of Monterey with beautiful beaches, ocean and estuary kayaking and scuba diving. Also nearby are the towns of Carmel and Pebble Beach with more beautiful beaches and some of the most famous and beautiful golf courses in the world.

If you enjoy bicycling, we are ideally situated for both road or mountain bike excursions - from short rides around town and the nearby hills to very challenging and extended mountain routes. We have a variety of road and mountain bikes available for both adults and children.

If you like hiking, there are hundreds of trails in nearby parks and in the Santa Cruz mountains. Big Basin State Park with its beautiful Redwood forest is 45 minutes away.

For urban, educational, and cultural activities there are two major cities nearby. The city of San Jose(1 million) is 15 minutes away by car. San Francisco with all its amenities is only 45 minutes away. We enjoy day tripping in San Francisco at least once every month.

OVERALL: The house was expanded to a new floorplan in 1995, the powder room completed in 2001, and new kitchen installed in 2007. Switch-selectable audio speakers can pipe sound around the house and out to the deck. Build in pocket doors can cordon off the kitchen or the "back wing" for additional privacy or quiet. Wireless high speed internet, or if you prefer, Cat 5 ethernet cable in 3 different rooms. Six sunlights make for a light and cheerful environment. HD TV with internet connection and Blu-ray DVD player.

3 BEDROOMS - One master bedroom suite with a luxurious "California King" bed, walk-in closet, master bath, day sofa, dressers, armoire, bay window, nice art work and French doors opening to the deck. The master bedroom also features a built-in computer center with desktop system, monitor, printer and internet access - wireless or wired. Two other bedrooms each with large windows and garden views. Our daughters rooms have special "trundle" beds which can quickly convert from a single bed to a double bed able to accommodate 2 adults, closets, dressers, and bookshelves. These two bedrooms are on the opposite side of the house from the master bedroom and can be made even more private by closing a pocket door between the sun room and the children's wing of the house. These 2 bedrooms have their own shared bathroom with double sink, bath and shower across the hall. At the end of the hall, a closet has been converted into a small office space with desktop computer, printer, and wireless or Ethernet wired internet.

3 BATHROOMS - 1 master bath, described above and 1 children's bath, also described above. 1 powder room off the living room reserved for guests. The powder room was designed with the ladies in mind as it has a very large multimirrored makeup and built-in vanity station along with special lighting.

KITCHEN - Recently remodeled. Everything from floor to ceiling is new! New stainless appliances include refrigerator, gas range, dishwasher, oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, griddle, and many other appliances on beautiful granite countertops. Sunny dining table for breakfast and lunch overlooks the front-yard porch and garden.
