We live on the border between two of the best and most interesting neighborhoods in Los Angeles -- Hollywood and Los Feliz. Many wonderful shops, restaurants, theaters and nightclubs, all within walking distance or a very short drive. Brad Pitt lives three blocks away in one direction (but chances are slim to zero that you will see him) and three blocks in the other direction is Thai Town, which has the best Thai food in the country, and also Little Armenia, which has the best Middle Eastern food in Los Angeles (don't know about the country on that one.) Hipsters, movie stars, politicians, artists and many writers call our neighborhood home. Also within walking distance is magnificent, mountainous, forested Griffith Park, the largest in the city -- fantastic hiking and bicycling. The very good beaches are a half hour away (if the traffic is on your side) and the spectacular, world class beaches are forty five minutes away. Something about ourselves

I am a film and television writer and director, my wife is a hair and makeup artist for film and advertising as well as a painter, our 27 year old daughter is a graduate student in biology and our 23 year old son is at music school, studying cello and baroque music practice. We love to travel and have already made two wonderful exchanges. Nowadays it's easiest for us to travel the last two weeks of December or between March and May. But for the coming Academic Year, we are interested in making a long-term exchange in New York City.
