Santa Barbara is a vibrant city with cultural events, plays and concerts all year long. Come see this beautiful town, known for its spanish architecture and red-tiled roofs. Trolleys will carry you to visit The Queen of the Missions, and our historic courthouse, one of the most beautiful in the country. You can get off at Stern's Wharf to dine on the freshest seafood while enjoying the salt air and harbor views, or stop to go shopping downtown along State Street and in Paseo Nuevo. See the latest exibits at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. The Museum of Natural History and The Botanic Garden in Mission Canyon, are also along the trolley route. There are fabulous restaurants all over town, or check out La Superica, the little hole-in-the-wall place that resident Julia Child said was the best Mexican food around. On weekends there is an art walk along Cabrillo Blvd, right on the ocean.

There are fun things to do year-round, including hiking, biking, surfing, kayaking, whale watching,
horseback riding, swimming, and rollerblading.

My husband and I (Catherine and Tom) are both professionals. He is an engineer and I am an RN. We enjoy traveling both in the US and abroad. For many years we have traveled to Denver to see Tom's family just after Christmas, so that might be a good opportunity for someone to come and enjoy the sun while we enjoy the snow. We have never done anything like this an it would be fun to enjoy discovering other places with tips from the homeowners on what not to miss.
