My home is a 1920's Cape Cod that has been extensively remodeled over the years. It has a large living room with high ceilings and a wall of windows, open to spectacular views. There is a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, inside washer and dryer and a 52 in flat screen with Tivo, Blu-Ray disc player and premium channels. The master bedroom, with built-in closets, has a queen sized Tempur-Pedic mattress and French Doors that open onto a private deck. There is a new bathroom with a walk-in shower large enough for two. The 2nd Bedroom is currently being used as a den/office but has a single bed for a 3rd person. The spacious viewing decks are furnished for outdoor dining or private sunbathing. This home is in the absolute best location for shopping, restaurants, theaters, galleries, bookshops, concert venues, etc., yet is surrounded by peace and quiet.
This home is in Silver Lake, voted by Forbes Magazine to be "the hippest place in the nation". It looks out toward the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Observatory. There are numerous cafes, restaurants, movie theaters, and night spots a stone's throw away, yet it's in a quiet area, above it all, with a feeling of seclusion and privacy. The Music Center Theater Group and Disney Concert Hall are 15 minutes away by car or public transportation. The house lies directly below Griffith Park, one of LA's main attractions, with golf courses, tennis courts, horseback riding, hiking trails, picnic areas and outdoor concerts at The Hollywood Bowl. The hill where the property sits is a fairly steep one and unless you're in good physical condition and want to use the hill for exercise, which some do, a car would be advisable.
I'm a single, mature male and a Realtor (now semi-retired), with my office in Beverly Hills. I've been in the profession for 35 years and particularly enjoy the freedom to travel it affords me. I've done 12 successful exchanges over the past 4 years and have been to many places around the globe, from Australia to the British Isles. I enjoy large cities like London, Paris and New York, where I lived for several years, but just toured the remote Scottish Highlands on a 3 week exchange and would do it again in a minute. I like to do a 'theater/museum run' once a year to London or NYC so exchanges there are always welcome. I don't smoke or have pets (due to allergies), and am looking for the same in an exchange partner. As I usually travel with a companion, at least two bedrooms would be needed. Lastly, you can be assured that your home will be exactly as you left it. I'm clean, neat and respectful of others possessions as I expect you to be of mine.
