Description of our house

Our house is very clean, serene, spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. It is on one floor, except for two steps between the kitchen and family room, so it is well suited for children or seniors. The bathroom was completely renovated in 2009 with a bench shower, whirlpool tub, and double sinks and the kitchen and master bedroom were also extended. There is a 52 inch flat screen television in the family room. Most of all, this home is welcoming and comfortable in an ideal location for a family or anyone who wants to be out and about, but come back to a quiet place at the end of the day.

This is a quiet residential neighbourhood, but within 5 miles of the coastal beaches and easy access to freeways or local streets to get you everywhere you need to go in Los Angeles. It is 15 minutes drive to Venice Beach and Santa Monica, 20 minutes south to Manhattan Beach. Downtown is 30 minutes by freeway. There are restaurants and a movie theater within 3/4 mile walking distance and a bus stop also within a .3 mile if you chose to take public transportation. Although we are close to LAX, there is no noise from the airport as the planes take off over the ocean. Joseph is a retired airline executive and I am a retired Certified Public Accountant, although we both spent our last working years with government agencies. We have a daughter in LA and a son, daughter in law, and two grandaughters in Oxford UK that we like to visit each August. Sometimes we will be swapping alone, but may want to include our family at other times. We have family in Italy, UK, Australia, and Northeastern United States which we visit often. We prefer to take public transportation or walk when we visit which gives us more opportunity to meet people and get to know a place. Since retiring, we have been working on getting in shape by biking, hiking, and yoga, but it is an ongoing project. We enjoy cooking and entertaining family and friends at home, but are open to seeing and learning about new places.
