Our vacation home has 3 large bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. There is a very large Master bedroom with private deck and separate bath. The master bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, separate shower and double sinks. There are 2 other large bedrooms downstairs. A beautiful, large Great Room (living room) with wood stove and high knotty-pine ceiling resides near the dining area and kitchen in one large open area. This is great for socializing while you cook. There is a large, newer hot tub outside that will comfortably accommodate 6 people. There are a total of 3 decks. This home is our vacation house and is in excellent condition and contains many personal items. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots/pans, etc. There are 2 TVs (with cable) and a excellent stereo system with CD player. We have high-speed internet as well. Our home is in the Tahoe Donner resort community that is comprised of 70% vacation homes. The community provides access to several swimming pools (open year-round!), fitness center with sauna and Jaccuzzi, golf & tennis courts, equestrian center, down-hill ski area and XC ski area. Our house is within 15 minutes of 8 ski resorts including Squaw Valley USA (home of the 1960 Winter Olympics), Northstar, Sugerbowl, Alpine Meadows, Boreal, Donner Ski Ranch. The Tahoe Donner Downhill and XC ski areas are just 1 mile away!
Truckee is 30 minutes from Reno Nevada (and it's International airport) and South Lake Tahoe both of which provide Casinos and world-class entertainment and shows.
San Francisco is 3.5 hours away.
Spring, Summer and Fall activities include lake activities, hiking, fishing, rock climbing, biking and many other outdoor activities. You will have access to a private marina on Donner Lake which has BBQ grills, beach area, boat launch and boat rentals. We love to travel. Since this home is our vacation home, we are very flexible on exchanges and they do not need to be simultaneous. Our primary residence is in the San Francisco Bay area.
We have 2 children, ages 13 and 10. Our hobbies including skiing, hiking, biking, swimming, golfing, camping and exploring new places.
I am a software engineer and my wife is currently a stay-at-home mom. Our boys love sports including soccer, baseball and basketball.
We have had 4 successful home exchanges, including 2 with European families. The exchanges in Europe went very well with us using a vacation home in Saas Fe, Switzerland and Barcelona, Spain for 2 weeks each.
We have also exchanged homes in Lake George, NY and Sedona, Arizona. We love to travel. Since this home is our vacation home, we are very flexible on exchanges and they do not need to be simultaneous. Our primary residence is in the San Francisco Bay area.
