The March issue of Sunset Magazine listed Del Mar as its favorite small beach town in Southern California! We agree. The town is small with a population of 4500 people. It's elegant, yet relaxed. We wanted to design our home with this in mind. Our home was custom built in the architectural style of Richard Legorreta, one of Mexico's great architects. We appreciate art and architecture and our home is filled with lots of art. It is comfortable and relaxing. The top floor has maple floors and cabinets. The sofa and easy chairs are leather. Our Master Bedroom has a Queen Bed with quality linens, as well as His and Her separate bathrooms. The Kitchen has stainless steel appliances and a professional gas stove. The living room opens to a deck with ocean and lagoon views. Most days we have a wonderful ocean breeze. Our offices, art studio and full bath are on the ground floor. It opens to a lovely garden with slate patio. We are adjacent to Torrey Pines Beach in South Del Mar. This is a sandy, naturalist beach, with sandstone bluffs, hiking trails, and a lagoon down the street with bird sanctuary. Lots of walking/hiking. We love the open space around us and take lots of relaxing walks!

Our neighborhood
Great restaurants within walking distance--Pizza, Mexican food, Italian, Continental, Sushi. Del Mar is a quiet, small, quaint community with great restaurants on the ocean. The Del Mar Plaza is a short distance away. It is a beautiful setting with whitewater ocean views and lots of upscale restaurants. It feels very European with its outdoor dining. From the end of July to the beginning of September the "Del Mar Races" commence. This is where "The Surf Meets The Turf" and some of the top horses compete in some very exciting races! A few miles south is the village of La Jolla. It is more crowded than Del Mar but is fun to visit as well. We are close to Interstate 5 and about a 15 minute drive to downtown San Diego. One can drive or take the train, which is a short distance from here. San Diego has many diverse neighborhoods with great architecture and dining. Balboa Park, Sea World, The San Diego Zoo, The San Diego Wild Animal Park and Scripps Aquarium are short drives away. Solana Beach is the town just north of us and there is a fun "Design District" which is great for strolling, shopping and dining. We are in real estate so can be flexible about travel times. We want to be able to relax and travel more as we spend so much time working. We are near retirement age, clean, non-smokers.  marks the location of this home
