Description of our house
Our home is on an acre with vineyards and wooded hillside across the road in the front, and mature oaks and the Maacama Creek in back. Surrounded by lawns and gardens, ours is a single-story home. The Master Suite has a King-size bed, spa-type bath with jet/air tub, walk-in shower, granite-topped vanity, and a walk-in closet. Our guest bedroom also has a King-size bed. A bath with walk-in shower adjoins. The kitchen is well-equipped, has granite counters and a separate walk-in pantry with wine fridge. The office has a sofa with a comfortable Queen-size airbed in it. There is a 3rd bath adjacent to the office. In the back of the house, we have a pleasant room with 6 large windows looking out to oaks and hillside vineyards. Here we have a dining area with round table and buffets, as well as a sitting area with couch and chair. Adjoining the house is a patio with nice umbrella table and comfortable outdoor chairs.

Our neighborhoodWe are in a perfect position for exploring the Sonoma/Napa wine country. Our location is in the Alexander Valley between Healdsburg (Sonoma County) and Calistoga (Napa Valley). Just off Chalk Hill Road, the site of many bicycle riding events, we are close to the Russian River, where you can enjoy kayaking and canoeing. The town of Healdsburg is small, historic, chic and quaint, with fine shops and restaurants and a beautiful town square. The Sonoma Coast is just about an hour away, where you can hike the scenic cliffs, enjoy beaches and dine on fresh seafood. Calistoga, at the top of the Napa Valley, is about 25 minutes away, via beautiful Knights Valley. San Francisco is about 1 1/4 hours away. A nice way to go into the city (besides driving over the Golden Gate Bridge), is to go to Larkspur and take the ferry past San Quentin, Alcatraz, and Angel Island to S.F

Something about ourselvesHi, I am Diane, a retired high school teacher, and my husband is Don, a retired real estate investor. We have enjoyed living in Healdsburg for 36 years. We love to travel and have previously exchanged homes 5 times (in France, Mexico and U.S.) Sharing our home and our beautiful region is great fun for us, and we always enjoy seeing other places in the world and experiencing other cultures.
