Our spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath 2110 sq. ft. custom home is on a ridgetop in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains of Tucson, AZ. The interplay of light and weather over the mountains at various times of day is breathtaking; nights are starry and clear, with views of city lights. The property is very private and quiet, and various species of wildlife abound. We have many birds -- several species of colorful hummingbirds, doves, quail, eagles, hawks, turkey vultures, among others. Bobcats occasionally appear on the property, as do various desert lizards, gila monsters, javelina (wild pigs), coyotes, rabbits, and deer.

As a ceramic artist, my home is decorated with many handmade pieces. You can also find my ceramic work on my patio, as well as decorating the entrance to my neighborhood.

Our home features central air and heat, a remote controlled gas fireplace and ceiling fans for your comfort. It is furnished in an eclectic blend of antiques and artwork from my travels around the world. The Great room has two comfortable recliners and a sofa looking out to beautiful mountain views and features a cozy corner fireplace. There are chairs for reading and relaxing and a writing desk. In the center of the two large windows is a 52" HD TV with premium cable, a Tivo DVR and a Bose ipod sound system. Highspeed wireless internet is available throughout the house, as well as free national telephone service. A printer/fax/scanner/copier is available for your use. There are also telephones and TVs in the master bedroom, guest room, and kitchen.

The island kitchen comes fully equipped and features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances: stove, oven, toaster oven, microwave, coffee-maker, refrigerator/freezer and dishwasher. A fully equipped laundry room is conveniently located down the hall.

The extra large master bedroom has a "Select Comfort" king-sized bed, sliding glass doors to a beautiful outdoor patio area and a walk-in closet. The attached master bath features a Jacuzzi tub and a large separate glass block shower along with twin sinks and private toilet area. The guest suite has a tempur-pedic twin bed, with a slide-out trundle bed below, and so comfortably sleeps two. The room has a 'en suite' bath with shower and marble designer sink as well as a private outdoor entrance.

A den with a convertible sofa bed that may be used as an additional bedroom is just off the main entrance. Books and games can be found there as well.

A covered outdoor patio is also available for your enjoyment. It has a gas BBQ grill, lounge chairs and an outdoor table and dining room set, as well as a handmade ceramic fountain.

The attached two car garage houses my 2006 BMW 325i which is in excellent condition and is also available for exchange if desired. Please note that my car is only available for local use.

Tucson is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by four mountain ranges. Tucson offers activities for most everyone -- museums, including the world famous Sonoran Desert Museum, art galleries, and abundant wildlife. The Tucson area is a bird watchers' paradise. As for golf, Tucson is considered one of the world's top golfing destinations, frequently holding PGA events, as well as offering an array of public & resort golf courses. (several 5 to 10 mins. drive). Tucson is also renowned for it's world class spas: the Canyon Ranch (now on cruise ships) & Mirival. Tucson is also rated as one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the U.S. There are hiking trails within walking distance from my home; not to be missed are Sabino Canyon and Saguaro National Park. Hiking & skiing atop 9,700' Mount Lemmon, boating at Lake Patagonia, or exploring the Chirachua Mountain rock formations are activities found a short drive away. Fun day or weekend trips include: Phoenix and Scottsdale, the Grand Canyon; the "Old West" towns of Prescott, Tombstone, or Bisbee; the beautiful red rocks of Sedona, the ghost town of Jerome, a drive through Oak Creek Canyon, and many others. Day trips to Mexico are about an hour away. The easy access to the airport provides domestic and international flights (1 hour flight to the California coast). The beach at Rocky Point, Puerto Penasco, Mexico is a 4 hour drive.

Tucson offers restaurants for everyone's taste and budget as well as ample nightlife and entertainment. I believe we have some of the best Mexican food available anywhere in the United States. Please feel free to ask us for any recommendations about restaurants or local attractions.

I am a retired special educator and administrator from New York City who is now a ceramic artist and world traveler. If you visit my Tucson home you can see my tile mural at the entrance of our neighborhood (photos on website) as well as ceramic pieces in my home. My partner and I, both 60's, enjoy traveling to exotic destinations exploring different cultures and meeting new people. She is also a former educator, attorney, and world traveler. I have lived in Tucson for the past 18 years; I love my desert home and hope that you will too. I also have a second home/condo in downtown San Diego that may be available for future non-simultaneous exchanges.
