Description of our house

In 2006 I built this cozy (1500 s.f.) get-a-way home for my wife and I. Located on Mt. Lemmon just minutes from the town of Summerhaven where it is always 30 degrees cooler than Tucson because the elevation is 8600'. Our main home is located an hour+ away in Tucson. The master bedroom is located on the second floor where there is also a loft area which sleeps one. The first floor living room has a queen size fold-out couch. If you enjoy star gazing or hiking or just plain kicking back, this place is for you. The drive alone is breath taking as it winds up the Catalina mountains. The home is equipped with wifi, phone and has an air-tight woodstove in addition to central heating. There is also a wrap-around outside deck with seating and a gas grille. The photos will hopefully give you a taste of the interior.

Well, there are few neighbors and it does snow here in the winter. Storms of all types kick up from nowhere in minutes. This is still a dry climate but rain and hale bursts occur from time to time. There is a world renown observatory about 20 minutes away further up the mountain which is open to the public. Mt. Lemmon has undergone several fires in the past but there are still many pristine spots. You can walk to the town of Summerhaven which is 5 minutes away. There you will find a general store, a pizza & cookie store and gift shop. Further up the mountain is the Iron Door Restaurant. You can also drive to downtown Tucson in 1-1/2 hours...Phoenix in 2-1/2 hours.....Nogales, MX in 2 hours....and Tombstone in 2-1/2 hours. ![]() Something about ourselves

I'm a retired custom home builder who enjoys travel, fly fishing and photography. My wife and I spend time as often as possible at our second home on Mt. Lemmon and we travel world wide. We love to cook, eat and we're always hungry for more traveling. ![]()
