Our home is located on the north shore of St Croix. It is in a very private location and conducive to rest and relaxation. It has about 750 sq ft inside and 400 sq ft of balcony which overlooks the sea.
The home has a large bedroom with a walk in closet and large bathroom. There is a great room which opens to a covered porch. The kitchen has a stove, an oven and refrigerator. A washer and dryer is located in a closet next to the kitchen. Like most homes on St Croix it is not air conditioned We take advantage of sea breezes and ceiling fans.
There is an apartment on the lower level that will sometimes be occupied by a caretaker. If you find yourself wanting extra space for an additional traveler let us know and we can get the apartment ready. Our home is located on the north shore of St Croix. Our home is located on the world famous Cane Bay, a favorite of divers and snorkelers everywhere. For the adventuresome, the Cane Bay Wall is a 100 yard swim from the beach where it drops from 100 ft to 300 ft. The cottage is on a private, unpaved road with a handful of houses that are staggered up a small mountain. It is the lowest and closest to the beach. It has tropical flora and fauna and can be quite breezy inside and especially outside on the porch.
You will be within walking distance or a quick drive to several beachfront eateries.One of the establishments offers morning yoga classes. Another one offers bingo on Tuesday nights. Several offer live music on weekends. They all have great food and a relaxed atmosphere.
The road from the house to the water is steep so you may want to drive though it is certainly walkable. You will want a car to explore the many historic sites on the island as well as enjoy fine shopping and varied recreational activites. We are Robert and Mary.Robert is an engineer and Mary is a property manager. We have been married 35 years and are in our mid 50's. We have enjoyed coming to St Croix for about 12 years. We love the constant trade winds, year warm temperatures, and laid back island lifestyle. We have wonderful memories of swimming with sea turtles in Cane Bay, getting scuba certified at the Cane Bay Dive Shop, and many lazy afternoons spent on Cane Bays' white beaches.
We have also enjoyed the botanical gardens, art shows, theater and the varied historic sites on St Croix. The shopping is pretty terrific too! We have found our bliss on St Croix and hope you do too.
