Description of our house

We love our second home in Gumusluk, Bodrum on the south west coast of Turkey. It is built in a small complex of 20 traditionally styled houses in an olive grove with uninterrupted views of the sea and Greek islands in the distance. The large terrace off the living room is great for outdoor living with a large built in barbecue. We have the best views of the sea and sunsets on the site. The pool is large with plenty of area for sunbathing. The very friendly neighbours are Turkish, English, Danish and Belgian although for many these are week-end and holiday homes.

Situated near Gumusluk, which is a very pretty seaside village only 2 miles away with restaurants bars, market and craft shops all around the bay overlooking Rabbit Island. Bodrum is the main city only 30 mins drive, with Turgetreis and Yalikavak being the nearest small towns within 15 mins with weekly markets. Bodrum airport is 50 mins drive and only an hour's flight away from Istanbul. This is an ideal area for historical interests and sailing as the sea is torquoise and clean. Something about ourselves

Colin and Tricia are in their early 60s, recently retired and looking forward to the freedom of travelling around the world when and where we wish! We love the sea and sailing, good food, wine and friends. We are planning to visit France, Australia, Goa, Thailand and the USA in the next few years using our air miles when possible! Our children are grown up and independant and we have a small grandson we will be taking on holiday occasionally.
