Our home is a lovely spacious Villa with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, separate living room and open plan kitchen/family/dining areas. Sliding doors from the living area and bedrooms lead to the pool and terrace, a great spot for entertaining & dining "alfresco" when not eating out at a variety of excellent cafes. Designed for tropical living, the home is comfortable, cool, bright & airy. The sparkling blue pool is very inviting for a refreshing swim, day or night, watch a pretty sunset, enjoying an icy cold beer or glass of wine. Unfortunately we feel we should advise, that with its open plan design, a treasured collection of artifacts, unfenced pool and garden, our home is not really suitable for children. Although our home is in a countryside location in the foothills, it is only 5 minutes from Chalong Bay with facilities including banks, P.O, medical services, restaurants, bars, markets, bakery and shops. The glorious beaches of Nai Harn and Kata are only 10-15 minutes drive and the Bay has many activities, horse riding, sailing, fishing, kayaking and access to offshore islands. You might also like to try a Thai cooking class or two, play a round of golf, ride an elephant through the jungle, or learn to scuba dive in crystal clear warm waters.... Within 20 mins drive there are major shopping centres and supermarkets,including Tesco and Macro, two international standard hospitals and another 10 mins brings you to the world famous "Patong Bay" with its fantastic nightlife; a wide choice of golf courses, lawn bowls, and the International Airport, located in the north of the Island. Our area is very peaceful and green, with the surrounding homes owned by English, European and Australian nationals. We are a married couple, Nigel and Pixie, (60-ish yrs young) who enjoy travelling 'off the beaten track'. We recently built our home in Phuket after retiring from 17 yrs sailing around the world and have not regretted the move to our non-floating cottage. Recently sold our yacht but to satisfy the 'itchy fins' we now have a 58 ft Narrow Boat on the English Canals. We enjoy snow skiing and seek a 3-6 weeks skiing home exchange, preferred time mid February to end of March. We also like scuba diving and sightseeing by campervan/mobile home and boats. Home exchanges generally need to be simultaneous and we are flexible with dates and periods of exchange. A longer term exchange would be considered and we also enjoy 'hosting' guests. With 16 marvelous exchanges (including boats, ski chalets, campers & a TENT !!) completed over the past three years, we feel that this is a fascinating way to both meet new people and 'live' in other parts of the world, rather than just 'package touring'.
