We offer a beautiful apartment in a typical renovated Swiss family farm (1879) 15 km from the center of Lausanne. As we are not farmers, the farm is run by our brother-in-law, André ; his entire production is organic: soya beans, wheat, sunflower, sheep and galloway beef (livestock is not in the farm, but in the fields the whole year long). Marinette and Charly, the grand-parents, are living next door. Charly still produces his red wine. Our flat has a large kitchen where an entire family can eat, with an adjoining sitting room with a fire place, a piano, a home cinema, and more than 700 comic books. The kitchen door opens directly into the garden, where beautiful flowers are growing: we like to invite friends and neighbors to share a meal or an "apéro" during summertime. The private garden offers plenty of space for children to play, sing in the swing, and dig in the sand pit. On the first floor there are 4 rooms : one with a baby-bed, two with double-beds, and one with a single-bed. The fourth room is small, and in an earlier incarnation, was the first bathroom built in the village at the beginning of the 20th century.

Ideally located as a touring base, our village offers easy access to Lake Geneva, the Jura mountains and the Alps, at around 15, 30 and 60 min respectively. The lake has beautiful beaches and picnic places during summertime, and the Jura mountains and the Alps offer nice hiking trips. If it's raining, you can visit the very special Outsider Art Museum (Musée de l'Art Brut), the International Olympic Museum, or the House of Wheat and Bread. Other villages in the area offer good restaurants, from simple traditional food to the most prestigious tables like Le Cerf, Ravet and Rochat, all 19/20 on the Swiss Gault & Millau scale. We are Sylvie and Pierre-André (38 and 37 years old), a married couple with a daughter Charlotte who is 4 years old and a son Samuel of 18 months. We are both professionals (web engineer and biologist) and enjoy traveling when able to get away. We exchanged our home with a Swedish familiy last June 2010 with a lot of pleasure and success for both parts, so we want to swap again in 2012...it is a great way to see another country as a resident would - and allow someone to see yours. We like meeting new people, hiking, singing, gardening, cooking, and reading.
