Description of our house

Our apartment is on the sunny side of Saas Fee, in a quiet location with great views - 3 minutes walk from the centre of town, 5 minutes walk to the nursery slopes and access to the whole ski area. Most of the time it is possible to ski back to the apartment. The apartment is bright, comfortable, and clean. A large open plan living- dining area leads to two balconies, one large, very sunny with views of the mountains and glacier. There is a master bedroom with a double bed, and a second bedroom with two single beds. We also sometimes use a blow up extra bed in the second bedroom in case of an extra guest. There is a small bright kitchen, and a clean, functional bathroom. We have DVDs, games, books in English, and WiFi.

Saas Fee is a traditional Swiss village and high altitude ski resort, with guaranteed snow and year round skiing (on the glacier in the Summer). It is smaller and more laid-back than nearby Zermatt, and has a good selection of restaurants, and a buzzing snowboard crowd. Cars have been banned from Saas Fee since the 1950's so those driving must leave their cars in the large car park at the entrance to the village. With excellent train/bus transfers direct from Geneva airport however a car is not necessary. There are many activities for sports enthusiasts both in winter and summer. Visit http://www.saas-fee.ch for more details. Some activities include day (or night time) sledging on the 15km run, the largest ice grotto in the world, a revolving restaurant at 3500m. In summer the hikes are endless and there are also guided walks for all abilities. Alternatively you can just stroll through the village, go to the weekly market and enjoy the alpine sunshine! We are Charlotte and John, a married couple with two children (Ben, 13 years and Natasha, 12 years). We live in London where John is a Stockbroker, and I have worked in the Environment Charity sector for the past 10 years. We have owned our apartment in Saas Fee for 7 years and spend a lot of time there in the holidays - also visiting my family as I was brought up in Switzerland. We are tidy and well organised and hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do. We would love to find a property to exchange by the beach, where the children can try watersports. But we are also open to all offers and promise to treat your home with respect. As it is our second home, a non-simultaneous swap would be fine. ![]()
