Description of our house
[
![]() ]
Our home is a cozy duplex apartment with a view of the ancient roofs and the Opera House. The house is quiet and bright, with lots of light coming from the windows, a good place to rest after a busy day in the city. There are three bedrooms, two of them downstairs, with a bathroom. The kitchen, downstairs, is not too big, but fully equipped, as we love to cook. Upstairs there is a living/dinning room with a housefire for the winter and a hamaca for the summer, and another bedroom and bathroom. The little balcony has room enough for two chairs and a table, where you can enjoy the sunrise or have a drink in the evening. We don't have a TV, but lots of books and CDs, and a good access to internet.

Our house is located in the historical center of the city. At 100 m. there is the Opera House, at 150 m. the Royal Palace and at 200 m., the Plaza Mayor. Just a little further away, at a five minutes walk, the busy Puerta del Sol and the colourfull Gran Vía. Our street, though, is little and quiet, with flower trees and cobblestones. The good thing is that, as calm as you may feel at home, you go downstairs and there is the neighborhood, full of life, with theaters, shops, cinemas, cafes, restaurants and museums within walking length. Even though it is the touristic center, many places still keep the flavor of the authentic Madrid. There are lots of pedestrian areas where cars are not allowed, so it is nice to just walk around in narrow streets full of history. You also have the underground just there to move around the city. Very near, at the Royal Palace Plaza, there is a big and lovely children playground for your kids. ![]() Something about ourselves

We are a couple with a cheerful and calm seven-year-old daughter. Until recently, I owed a children's bookshop and now I'm a literary free-lancer. My husband is a professor. We have made four exchanges so far and loved it. We are experienced and respectful travelers and we will take good care of your house. Our daughter is allergic to cats, so unfortunately we wont be able to swap if you have a cat. ![]()
