We live in a mountain village 50 km from Madrid with easy access (Public transport at least once an hour) to Madrid city centre where you can enjoy all the cultural activities, shopping and nightlife of one of Europe most lively capitals. On the other hand within 10 minutes drive you can climb the mountains and enjoy the National Park of Guadarrama. Easy daytrips include The Monastery of the historical village of El Escorial, the famous Roman aqueduct and Castle of Segovia, the walled city of Avila and the famous historical university town of Salamanca to name just a few. If you just feel like staying at home the village offers sunny restaurant terraces with traditional spanish cuisine, a sports centre with tennis court and a summer outdoor swimming pool, all in walking distance from the house. Another option-pleasant country strolls through the village and its surrounding farmlands and woodlands.

We are a family of four, with two well-behaved daughters , 9 and 15. I am an English teacher and my husband is an actor in a Classical Madrid Theatre Company. We are interested in arts, local culture and traditions more than in restaurants or nightlife. Because of our profesions our holiday time is restricted, so we are open to non-simultaneous exchanges as our house is big enough and we like having people to stay.
