Description of our house

Our house was built in 1875 around a seventeenth century tower built to protect the pretty village of Alaior. It has been just totally removed and offers all commodities, large spaces, a music room with piano, reading room with library. The property is 40 hectares and offers many fields and centenary pines and palmers where to relax in the shadow. The swimming pool is carved in the rocks, and there is a tennis court and stables.The property also works as a farm (you will have fresh tomatoes and salads!)and breeds pure blooded Spanish and Menorquin horses. But,above all, Turrubet is our loved family holiday house where we hope to live someday!

In 1995 Unesco declared Menorca Biosphere Reserve. The Menorcans are very friendly, proud of their marvelous island, which offers coves and unspoilt beaches,a navigable coast with natural ports, prehistoric monuments(there is one in the property), neoclasical architecture with English influence, well kept countryside, white villages with typical shops (many manufactures of luxury shoes and leather), excellent Mediterranean dishes with fish, and above all, tranquility in natural surroundings. We are a family with 4 children (For some travels a nurse can come with us). For us Turrubet is not a luxury, it's a need. I am antiquarian, so I try above all to respect the spirit of the place... I am sure you will love it! In July and August Turrubet is always occupied but available the rest of the year. Winters are very warm and it is possible to swim from June to October, some years from may to November.
