Description of our house

We offer a beautiful Custom Country Home. The house is very spacious, with lots of light and breathtaking views. Upstairs there is a master suite with views of the mountains and a private bathroom, one room with 2 beds and another room with one bed, a bathroom and a nice, cozy den. Downstairs you will find the living-room with fireplace and 52 inch flat screen TV; the dining room and glass-room with views of the mountain and garden; gourmet kitchen,and a third bathroom with an oversized two-people bathtub/jacuzzi. Also downstairs there is another bedroom, and an oversized home office with high speed internet and phone/fax. The 2-car garage is used as an utility room for laundry and children's activities. We have also a three-car carpot, and wood storage. The house sits in a 5 acre lot with trees, flowers and grass. It is a rural setting minutes away from little towns and half an hour away from the main city. To go to the city you can drive, take a bus, or a small ferry boat. GPS +43° 26' 50.54", -3° 39' 46.48"

Carriazo is a small town in Cantabria, North of Spain. We are across the Santander Bay only 20 miles from the city and 50 miles from Bilbao. Santander is a cute, clean, safe city with great food, beautiful beaches and cultural events and activities. Bilbao is a bigger city with nice shopping, wonderful "tapas" and it is famous for the amazing Guggenheim Museum. Both cities have airports with lots of flights to European capitals. This is a very unique and desirable part of the countryside. We are about 2 miles from the ocean, and only 5 minutes from 7 different top-notch beaches (Somo, only 5 minutes away, is a world-class surf-spot.) There is a public school about 300 yards from the beach with the most incredible setting I have ever seen, and lots of hiking routes, bike-paths, and opportunities for sports around here, like golfing, rafting, horse-back riding, etc. There are also tons of opportunities for sightseeing, exploring the Romanico Art, pre-historic paintings and caves, etc. Cantabria is well connected by highways to most of the Spanish cities. We are a couple with 3 children (13, 10 and 7) very well behaved and used to travelling. My wife is a teacher and a professional translator; and I am business owner. We love traveling, being outdoors, reading, cooking, gardening and spending time with family. We have enjoyed 6 home exchanges already and we loved it.
