Our town, Vejer de la Frontera, is one of the famous white villages - Pueblos Blancos - of Andalucia. To see it for yourself just google: Vejer de la Frontera, Spain and check out the images. We are within easy reach of Gibraltar (1 hour) and historic Jerez and Cadiz (45 minutes). Further afield are Seville, Cordoba, Ronda, Sierra de Grazelemas and Granda (1.5 - 4 hours travel time). If interested in the Moorish history of Andalucia, these are all great places to visit. The Portuguese border is about 3 hours away. Morocco is a 40 minute drive to Tarifa and then a 35 minute speedy crossing to Tangiers. There are outstanding sandy beaches between 4 - 15 km from the house. These beaches are considered the best in Spain with Atlantic waters and some are lined with inexpensive fish restaurants. August is the busiest time of year and it can also be very warm, 30 - 35 degrees C.
Something about ourselves
Jeff and Christina are both in their mid-60s. Jeff has been in international marketing for 30 years and now runs his own company in which Christina works. Although we claim to work full-time, we do enjoy regular breaks in our house in Andalucia. We are very keen gardeners (lots of automatic timers so nothing for you to do)and we enjoy swimming in the sea, Bridge, walking, golf and exploring new places. As we now have more time we would like to go further afield. We have two grown children, one in Australia and one a post-graduate student in Brighton. We can be very flexible with timing.
