My home is completely furnished and tastefully decorated with a combination of antiques and modern ameneties. There is a large open plan living area on the ground floor, a gourmet kitchen, separate full bath. Terrace with stunning views of distant mountains, barbecue. Room for 10 or 12 to sit down for dinner, and space for a sextet of chamber music. Second floor has 2 bedrooms, 1 ensuite bath, 2nd terrace off master bedroom. Near shops and restaurants and Jimena Visitors Center, Roman/ Moorish castle. Visitors usually bring their own cell phone for most efficient communication.

Jimena is one of the pueblos blancos of Andalucia, situated halfway between Algeciras and Ronda but less than a half hour from the nearest beach (or enjoy lovely in-town swimming pools), located on the edge of the Parque Natural de las Alcornocales. A typical small, rural town, it still maintains the authentic character of Spain which has been lost in nearby costal towns taken over by high-rise resorts. It is 1.5 hours to Malaga Airport, 45 minutes to Gibraltar Airport, 1 hour to Ronda, 2 hours to Cadiz, 2 hours to Jerez, 3 hours to Sevilla, 3.5 hours to both Granada and Cordoba. There is also a rail link from Algeciras to Granada, with the stretch from Jimena to Ronda particularly spectacular. The Atlantic beaches are only about 1 hour away at Tarifa, and the beaches of the Mediterranean are 25 minutes away.

I am Jane/Juana/Giovanna, depending on which country I am in at the time. I am a retired American who loves to play chamber music with friends (viola/violin) and meet new people in interesting places. I live part of the year in Spain, part of the year in Italy. Formerly from New York, I travel to the States (New York City and Dutchess County) about once a year to keep up with family and friends there. I describe myself as a "compulsive flyer" and am usually prepared to make an interesting trip on short notice if I have no other committments. However, because I also sometimes rent my homes when I am not there, I am prepared to make plans far in advance too. I have been doing home exchanges, off and on, for about 35 years and have never had a bad experience.

I TRY TO ANSWER ALL INQUIRIES, BUT I AM NOT ABLE TO DO AN EXCHANGE IN AUSTRALIA OR NEW ZEALAND.
