Ours is a large restored 4 floor house in a quaint Catalan village. We started renovating it in 2004 and are very pleased with the results. It has the original beams and is decorated in a country style mixing the old with the new. The kitchen and living room area is 45m2. There are bathrooms on all floors. There are a double and single bedroom on the top floor and another double en suite and the TV room on the 1st floor. The living area, kitchen and another single bedroom are on the 2nd floor.We can sleep 8 and have extra pullout matresses and plenty of toys and bikes for all the family.There is a ping pong table and stuff for the beach on the ground floor. We have a Wii, DVD, loads of films, a piano, guitars and teenage stuff, too. We have a beautiful roof terrace/deck with table and chairs, barbecue and views over the Montseny mountains.

Our house is in Arbucies, in the province of Girona and just 1 hour from Barcelona city. We are set in a beautiful valley with fantastic scenery. The village has all amenities e.g. a lovely pool just 3 mins walk away, restaurants, shops and some local theatre and cinema.You can go walking, mountain biking, play golf, horseriding and fishing and the nearest beach on the fabulous Costa Brava is just 30 mins away. The scenery around here is fantastic. There are many interesting places to visit like Vic,Banyoles,Ampurdan,Ripoll,Núria etc. Being 1 hour from Barcelona gives you easy access to all its culture and art like Gaudi, Picasso and Miro. We are 40 mins from historic Girona with its old Jewish quarter and river and the Dali museum is 1hr15 away at Figueres. Madrid is 2hr30 on the fast train. Ryanair.com operates out of Girona airport only 30 mins away connecting you in under 2 hrs to Paris, Venice and London. We are a young(: couple with 2 lively but well-behaved boys. Jaume(46) is a Catalan journalist from Barcelona and Sue(49) is an English actress and artistic director of a theatre co.in Barcelona. Ferran is 15 and into music and basketball and Miquel is 11 and into everything!. We all speak Spanish, English and Catalan.We have swapped about 8 times now and love every minute of it,it's the best way to travel and experience new places. We are sure you will love this beautiful part of Spain. Try us out, we will reply to all mails.(We are booked for spring and summer 2012, but are open to offers for late 2012 and all of 2013!!)
