1) December 20 2010 - January 09 2011 Where we want to go ![]() Description of our house
Our modern and cozy apartment, recently renovated, has everything you need to have a great stay in Barcelona. We offer 2 bedroom apartment (the main bedroom sleeps two and the accompanying bedroom is a single with a crib and lot of toys), with a brightly and spacious living room, a fully-equipped kitchen, a nice bathroom and a functional laundry room. But the most interesting part of our home is the sunny terrace, the perfect place for sunbathing or for a romantic dinner under Barcelona's sky (don't forget our BBQ!). It's located on the top floor of a 30 years old building with elevator and doorman, in the residential district of Eixample. You can go walking to the city center (only 10 minutes to Gaudi's most famous buildings or to the main central train station) and it's very well communicated by public transport.

![]() Our neighborhood
The apartment is located in the traditional Barcelona neighborhood called "Eixample", the main neighborhood of Barcelona, developed since the 1860s. It's characterized by its quadrangular pattern. It houses most of the modernist (art nouveau) buildings of the city, among them Gaudi's outstanding La Pedrera or Casa Milā . [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eixample] The neighborhood has plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops, and its privileged situation allows you to reach main Barcelona attractions on foot: Plaza Espaņa and Montjuic's Magic Fountain, Passeig de Grācia, Plaza Catalunya, Las Ramblas [http://www.barcelonaturisme.com] Bus and subway are conveniently located just down our street, which makes any part of the city easily reachable. [http://www.tmb.net/en_US/home.jsp] As our apartment is pretty close to Sants Station (train and bus) it's an ideal base for daily trips all around the Catalan Coast (Costa Brava and Costa Daurada), golden sand beaches, historic romanic villages (Besalú, Rupit, Ripoll...), Cistercian monasteries of Poblet and Santes Creus, nature (Montseny and Pyrenees), Dali's route, monumental Roman complex of Tarragona, theme parks (PortAventura), Penedčs wine and cava cellars, Montserrat monastery and many more. We are a married couple in their mid-thirties. Manel is foreman builder and I (Laia) am an accountant, now enjoying my time taking care of our son, Oriol, born in May 08. We have travelled extensively before our little boy came along and we already got involved in a very successful home exchange. Because of our current situation we do not want to do long-distance flights yet so we are looking for a European destination, preferable somewhere sunny with backyard and/or pool. We are a couple very responsible (non-smokers), who will treat your place with the utmost respect and will do their best to help you make the most of your visit. ![]() ![]()
