Would you like to come to this beautiful part of Spain - in the heart of the village with all the amenities on your doorstep?
We live in a gorgeous townhouse in a small charming Spanish village, between Denia and Pego on the North Costa Blanca, also known as La Marina Alta.
Our house was built in the 1920's then refurbished about 8-9 years ago now, although we are always adding new touches here and there. We have parking outside the house, except when the weekly morning market is on, which is in our street! Downstairs we have a large but cosy lounge with a real log fire and reclining chairs and comfortable sofas. There is also a spacious dining room and kitchen which then lead out to the private internal courtyard. Upstairs we have two large bedrooms, both ensuite, one a double with bath and its own large terrace and the other sleeps up to 4 comfortably with its own ensuite shower and two balconies overlooking the street - great to watch the processions from!
In total we have three terraces, a patio and a private internal courtyard. The village is small ( 700 people ) and there are 2 children's playgrounds and a shaded picnic area. The people in the village are great and very welcoming, at certain times of the day it can be so quiet you might well think there is nobody here at all, but at other times all the locals are out and about and there is a real sense of community here.
There are three bars/restaurants with a selection of great and inexpensive food. There is also a shaded picnic area, tennis courts, outdoor pool, children's playground and open air cinema in the months of July and August. Throughout the year there are various fiestas of all kinds and the whole village join in.
The village is on the bus route to the shopping centre and the beaches and Denia, and the other way into the Jalon Valley. If you have a car there is a lot to do around here and the countryside is wonderful. Great for walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, golf, tennis, kite-surfing, sailing and much more.
We are outside the main tourist area but not so far that you can't dip your toes in when you want the busy side of things (ten minutes in the car and you are a number of places) so it's the best of both worlds. A young at heart (38/44) couple who love to laugh and be happy, but can be serious when need be. We run a homestay most of the year, mainly language/activity courses and also translations/interpreting - which we can help you with if you are doing a hospitality exchange with us.
Both of us are well travelled and we are very considerate of other people's houses, expecting the same in return. We are both keen photographers - him perhaps more than her, outdoor types with eclectic tastes in music, film and theatre and often found with our noses in a book of some sort. We also have a keyboard and two guitars for people to use if they wish.
It will usually be just the two of us, but occasionally we would be travelling with other adults or children.
(responsible and well-behaved - as are we ! ).
We are open for simultaneous or non-simultaneous house exchange, hospitality, housesitting, long-term exchanges - try us !
