My wife and I have always dreamt of building a "villa by the sea." In 2004 during a visit to Spain, we came across what we thought was the most beautiful plot of land on the Costa Blanca in Moraira. We started building our dream home in 2005 and completed it in May 2007. We designed the villa with our friends and family in mind and created a private self contained apartment below our main residence. The apartment has its own private entrance and garden. It includes 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, spacious living room with cable TV and DVD player, surround sound, wet bar for cocktail parties, fully equipped kitchen, and dining room with table for 6. An additional bedroom on the lower floor offers additional accommodation, but no views. The apartment has under floor heating for the winter and air conditioning for the summer. The terrace, two bedrooms and the dining room all have spectacular views of the Mediterranean, and outside steps give access to the infinity pool and terraces above with WiFi access.

Our villa is located in a small village called El Portet, which is approximately 5 kilometers from Moraira, the "jewel of Costa Blanca." Our villa is on top of the hill and is on a private street. Most of the villas around us are second homes, which lends to the privacy and tranquility of our location. Being a tourist town, we are able to enjoy the many choices of restaurants (Spanish and ethnic food) in Moraira and neighboring villages. Moraira is an old fishing village and has one of the few remaing fish auctions open to the public in the port. The villa is 2 kilometers from El Portet Beach, a lovely blue flag beach, where we enjoy swimming, dining, and just walking along the beach. A wide range of activities are available including golf, sailing, kayaking, scuba, hiking, fishing etc. As the villa is at the top of the hill, a car is recommended. Something about ourselves

I was a co-founder of Dysan Corp in the US computer media business, and CEO of a private media equipment company, retiring in 2000 at the age of 59. My wife is a retired casino executive. We own the villa in El Portet and a second "seniors" home in Henderson, Nevada, USA, just outside Las Vegas. The house in Henderson is available on a simultaneous basis. We enjoy our travels in Europe and are looking for a base in France, Austria and/or Switzerland for July and August of 2011. We like to stay connected so need high speed internet. WE ARE FLEXIBLE BUT NEED TO EXCHANGE NON-SIMULTANEOUSLY, as the whole villa is rented in July and August of 2011. The apartment is available for exchange from May - June 2011 and September 2011 to June 2012. We are both very tidy people, and will look after you home as if it were our own.
