Our beach house was completely renovated in 2011 with a simplistic Scandinavian approach. There is plenty of light, spacious rooms, a large kitchen and the most fantastic sofa to overlook Africa's southern-most sunset.
The open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge opens up completely with six foldable doors out to the garden and the view of Atlantic ocean. The outdoor dining area is wind protected and there is a 98% chance that you can have lunch there any dry day (which are most days in the Cape).
The garden has a lawn which is nice to play on for the kids, and two loungers to soak up the view and the sun for the adults. At the back of the house is a large shaded area for play or relaxation.
The master bedroom has a open bath-suite with enclosed toilet. From this room there is also a separate door to one of the two outside showers. The guest room has a double bed, cupboard and desk with a nice airy feeling. The kids room with two bunk beds (sleeping four comfortably), a day-bed, TV (cable) and plenty of space to play on the parquet flooring.
This is a great house for inviting and entertaining friends with BBQ, easy access to the beach and plenty of beach-side living feeling. Our beach home is located in the suburb of Scabrough, which borders Cape Point nature reserve, and is still only 30 minutes from Cape Town.
The home is located on the hill-side with three minutes walk to the beach. There is fantastic surfing, wind-surfing and kite-surfing possibilities at both this beach and out neighboring beach.
The sun sets just in front of the beach and our home, and is a daily ritual of sparkling colours and calm feelings.
Cape Point nature reserve offer fantastic opportunity for hiking, game viewing (!), swimming and snorkeling.

We are a family of four with children age 7 and 10 (girl and boy). We moved from Norway to South Africa in 2002 and enjoys our new country every day. We live in Constantia, which is close to schools and work and use our beach home as a weekend getaway. Our business is the wine farm Rosendal (see my Homepage) which we started up in 2004 and where we run a successful guesthouse, spa and wine business today.
We are interested in looking at most places on the globe. Most years we will trek to Europe in June/July holiday, but we try to travel to other interesting destinations through the year. Please do not hesitate to surprise us with a request!
