Our home is a beautiful spacious condo in Singapore and great for families who love like us the outdoors and modern interior, but don't want to be too far away from the action.
We spend a lot of time in our huge living room, and enjoy the seaview. In the evenings, we often have the windows open and enjoy the breeze. Our dining table easily fits 6 persons, and if you want, our helper can help you with shopping, cooking and washing.
We have 3 bedrooms:
1) a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and seaview.
2) children's room with a loft bed and a 140cm long toddler bed, ensuite bath room.
3) a study with a sleeping couch (150cm wide), great views of Marina Bay Sands, ensuite bath room
There is a forth room that we use as a study and reading room for our kids.
We live in a big development that offers great facilities: an Olympic size swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, 2 playgrounds, barbecue pits.
The famous East Coast Park is a mere 10 minute walk away and a great place for cycling (you can rent bikes), roller-blading (can be rented), walking on the beach and even swimming (though we do not swim there).
And still you are not far from the city: 10minutes by cab to Marina Bay Sands/IR (casino, shopping, museum), 15 minutes to the famous Orchard road, 15 minutes to Sentosa (which has an OK beach where you can swim in the ocean). Tanjong Rhu Road is an old shipyard that got converted into a residential housing development 30 years ago. The sea is close so it is breezy, however, there is the ECP between the housing estates and the sea. If you are looking for complete tranquility in this city, you would have to move further out.
There is a free shuttle bus to the Leisure Park Kallang, which takes you in 10 minutes to a neighborhood mall with a Cold Storage supermarkets, wine shop, ice skating ring (for rainy days!), movie theater, Watsons/Guardian, children's soft toy playground and some restaurants.
We have no car as transport by taxi is much more convenient and cheaper. Tanjong Rhu Road is an old shipyard that got converted into a residential housing development 30 years ago. We are Anne-Ev and Johannes, a married couple with two girls (5 and 7 years old). We are both professionals (lawyer and marketing consultant) and enjoy travelling when able to get away. We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see yours.
We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in Singapore. We are usually traveling during the school holidays (mid June to mid August, second half of October, Xmas break, Easter) and welcome ideas for exchanges.
