Quiet area but walk for a couple of minutes to get a feel of real local Singaporean community, with hawker centres open at all hours (try roti prata with fish curry or stingray with chili sauce!). Lovely welcoming community - people are out late at night eating and shopping. Supermarkets, wet warket, pharmacy etc all open until late in the pedestrian shopping area nearby. We are a bilingual family (French -English) of 5. We lived in Auckland for more than 10 years before moving to Singapore. Love the sun all year round, the myriad of cultures in Singapore, the shopping!
