Description of our house

Our home is a detached country house located in approx. 3/4 acre of garden accessed via a short private road. On two floors, the ground floor comprises a comfortable sitting room with open fire and panoramic windows looking onto the garden and a 42" television with full satellite facilities and SKY + recording, hallway, dining kitchen with all modern appliances and seating for 6, toilet/cloakroom/wash basin area and a 2nd sitting/reading room with broadband computer/printer, wood burning stove, massage chair, access via French doors to the front porch and garden and large panoramic bay windows. Upstairs, we have three double bedrooms. The master bedroom, with beautiful views over the surrounding coutryside, houses a super-kingsized bed and fitted wardrobes. The remaining 2 bedrooms each have double wardrobes. One has a king sized bed and the other a double bed plus sofa bed. The bathroom has an enclosed steam/shower area. There is double glazing and gas central heating throughout and with the exception of the hallway all flooring is either oak or stone. There is a large garden to the front with an open perspective and mature trees and plants throughout. There is a path leading to a breeze house which has heating and lighting. There is a small detached garage in which we have a commercial duty running machine. Two entrances/exits to the property and ample parking in the driveway for 4/5 vehicles.

Our house is situated in the Rosemount area of Blairgowrie, directly opposite the prestigious Rosemount and Landsdowne Golf Club. From a golfer's perspective Carnoustie, Gleneagles and St Andrew's are all 30 miles or less away and there are a great many other golf courses closer by. Blairgowrie has the full range of shops for all your everyday needs, including several large supermarkets. The immediate countryside is semi rural with mostly detached properties with stables/paddocks. There are a large number of walks possible from the house and slightly further afield we are a short car journey from the Angus Glens, Glenshee and the Cairngorm National Park. We are truly central to all the large cities and towns in Scotland: 20 minutes (15 miles) from Perth, 25 minutes (18 miles) from Dundee, 1 hour (55 miles) from Edinburgh, 1 hour 10 mins (65 miles) from Glasgow, 1 hour 15 mins (70 miles) from Aberdeen and just under 2 hours from Inverness. Public transport is very good with regular bus and train routes both locally and nationally. There are 3 airports within 90 minutes all of which provide very cheap flights to most European destinations with short time journeys. On our doorstep we are on the fringe of the Scottish Highlands and there is easy access to some of the most beautiful countryside in Scotland, with an abundance of tourist facilities and things to do. There are a number of high quality restaurants, several theatres, recreation and cinema complexes within 30 mins. ![]() Something about ourselves

Hi, we're Carol and Kevin and are looking for an exchange to New York for one week beginning of September 2011. We are hoping to enjoy a week in NY before visiting our son & his wife who live near Portland, Maine. We wouldn't be looking for a car exchange but can provide a car at our end which would be advantageous for touring. We have exchanged before and can provide references if required.
