We are 20mins walk from Inverness town centre and 10 mins walk from the river Ness, which runs through the picturesque city. It's not like a city really, more like a town. It has some nice restaurants, pubs and amenities, and at most times of year there is traditional music to be found. There is an excellent aquadome/ sports centre within walking distance. Inverness sits at the top end of Loch Ness and is the perfect spot from which to explore the Highlands. We are surrounded by stunning scenery, from beautiful white beaches (the nearest is 20 mins drive away), to the Caingorm mountains. Mountain biking, horseriding, climbing, hillwalking, and canoeing are all easily accessible. Dolphins can often be spotted from a nearby beach. Cairngorm ski resort is 45 minutes drive away, there is usually skiing until around the end of April if the weather is good. Something about ourselves

We are Ken and Dot Walker, (a surgeon and an artist) in our forties with 3 children, aged 13, 12 and 7. We've been in Inverness 6 years and love it! We love the easy access to the countryside and love biking, canoeing and skiing. I am never stuck for inspiration to paint! We each make music and our daughter is involved in the traditional music scene in Inverness. We've travelled extensively (work and pleasure) and love to explore new places. ![]()
