Description of our house

Our home is a light, bright two bedroom, one bath attic apartment overlooking the swimming pool. There is a small, yet cheery, kitchen which includes a six burner range, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, full sized fridge/freezer and clothes dryer (the clothes washer is located in the hallway closet). We also have a large dining/living room area with a fireplace, flat-screen TV, international cable with Netflix, XBOX Kinect and an all-region DVD player. Both the kitchen and the living/dining room have glass sliding doors which open onto a large outdoor patio. The patio has a built in BBQ, sun umbrella, loungers and a outdoor table and chairs. The master bedroom has a king sized bed with a desk area for your computer. The second bedroom has a twin sized loft bed atop a full sized bed, a small desk and a second TV. There is also a fold out sofa in the living room which can sleep an additional person if needed. The bathroom is large, with a deep tub and removable shower head. Our house is very comfortable with air conditioning and heating units throughout, wireless internet and a housekeeper. Our complex is gated and has an exercise room, sauna, jacuzzi, ping-pong table, children's play area, two swimming pools and a large grassy outdoor area. There is also secure garage parking if you are planning to bring a car.

Our apartment is situated in Pipera, which is twenty-five minutes north of downtown Bucharest, (accessible via bus and subway or taxi) and fifteen minutes from the Henri Coanda(OTP)airport. The nearest bus stop is a five minute walk from the house. Bucharest is a study in contrasts. There is an intermingling of beautiful buildings, gorgeous monasteries and communist bloc housing units, yet it offers an array of things to discover. The old town, or Lipscani district, is full of historical buildings and coffee shops and the Parliament house is worth a tour as it is the second largest administration building in the world. Bucharest also has some wonderful museums including the Museum of the Romanian Peasant, the Village Museum, the National Art Museum of Romania and the National Museum of Contemporary Art. There is an opera and a symphony for music lovers and it has some wonderful bars and nightclubs. Bucharest has a number of nice parks, including Herestrau Park, which makes for a fun day out. There are also beautiful hikes, rock climbing, mountain biking and skiing in Sinaia,which is about 1 1/2 hours away by train. Our traveling party will include Lowell, Devin and David. Lowell is a high school science teacher at a local international school, where Devin substitutes and which David attends. We enjoy scuba diving, hiking, golfing, skiing, reading, board games, playing on the beach, and laughing together. We are clean, well mannered and will take care of your home as if it were our own. We have exchanged 20+ times and have found it's a wonderful way to travel. David and Devin are severely allergic to cats and smoke so if a cat or a smoker has ever lived in your house then please let us know. WE ARE OPEN TO THIRD PARTY EXCHANGES AND RESPOND TO ALL INQUIRIES!
