Our home is in a quiet cul de sac, built on three floors overlooking a bush reserve. Entry is at street level to garage or lobby. The lounge, dining room, kitchen, laundry, bathroom 1 are at ground level. Downstairs to music room with bed settee and computer room/ study overlooking bush. Upstairs to main bedrooms and bathroom. Wood burner in lounge (picture 4), heat pumps in computer room and dining room. Drive in garage. Our home is a five minute walk to beach, shops, post office, wine bar, hairdresser, bistro, tennis court, park, fish and chip shop and bus stop.

A half-hourly bus service connects with marine gardens, swimming pool, local shopping mall, local airport and railway station. Half-hourly train service to Wellington, daily train service and frequent bus services to the north. The local airport has frequent flights to Auckland and the South Island and has gliding and helicopter services. Within 10 km are several golf courses,marine and wetland sanctuaries and car, tramway, telephone and airport museums. Within 20 km there is whitewater rafting and kayaking and more golf courses. We are a retired profession couple, Eileen was a teacher and educational researcher and Rob was pharmaceutical chemist and university lecturer. We have family, including five grandchildren, within 5 km. Our interests and pastimes include theatre, hiking, croquet, gym, reading, golf, Red Cross, Civil Defence and other volunteer work. We enjoy travelling when able to get away. ![]()
