Stewart Island is New Zealands most southern National Park. It is located across Foveax Straight from Bluff. Numerous Islands dot the shoreline and densely forested hills descend to a coastline of rock outcrops and golden sandy beaches. It is a natural refuge for marine and bird life. Vivid dawn and twilights give rise to the Islands Maori name Rakiura - Land of the Glowing Skies. It is accessible by ferry and plane to the small township of Oban.
Something about ourselves
My wife Diane and myself (Andy) are a middle aged couple wanting to explore the world now that our children have left home. Our main home is on a Deer and beef farm just outside of Timaru, New Zealand. We are planning a trip to the UK and Europe in May to August this year and would love to experience the local hospitality in some of these countries in exchange with a stay on our farm and or house at Stewart Island.
