Our unusual house is partly constructed of rammed earth. It is warm and comfortable in winter and cool in summer. The house is set in a hectare of garden with beautiful views. The gardens will be looked after whilst we are away. There are two queen size beds and each bedroom has its own bathroom with shower and toilet. The kitchen has a breakfast table and there is a separate dining room as well. There is a comfortably furnished lounge with tv and stereo. The property is not suitable for small children. We also have a fully-equipped cottage on the same property that can accommodate 4 people for a non-simultaneous exchange. This has two bedrooms and one bathroom and has a large deck next to the pool. It is possible to exchange a vehicle.

The house is 3 km from the village of Kerikeri which has a population of around 10,000 and is situated in the lovely Bay of Islands, a popular boating area for both motor boats and yachts. Kerikeri has a number of art galleries and we have a new and excellent theatre. There are several good restaurants in the village as well as in the next small town of Paihia. Kerikeri is the oldest settlement in New Zealand and has a number of historic buildings. Kerikeri is in the warmest part of New Zealand. We are 97 km from Whangarei and pproximately 300 km from Auckland and there are good air and coach services to all parts of New Zealand from Kerikeri. ![]() Something about ourselves

David and I are retired. I was a financial planner and he is a retired lawyer. Our interests include gardening, walking, boating and fishing. David is a keen photographer and I am a painter. We have three adult children, seven grandchildren and one beautiful great-granddaughter. I speak and write some French. We have made a number of successful exchanges in France, Italy and England and really enjoyed our experiences. We can be fairly flexible on dates and an exchange does not have to be simultaneous. ![]()
