Anytime is a good time to travel. I prefer to visit when the weather is warm and not so wet. Your summer is most likely when I would wish to visit
My house is perfect for house swapping, in addition to being perfectly located it is "Convenient, Compact and Comfortable".
Newly furnished modern holiday house that has all the basics when on holiday.
Very clean and tidy and a great retreat to return to at the end of the day and to relax.
Maintenance free and OK to leave for longer periods if traveling around NZ and using Christchurch as a base.
One of 15 apartments, it has 3 levels with an internal garage.
2 bedrooms on the top level both with views of the city.
Not been affected by the earthquakes.
My second home so available for non-simultaneous exchanges year round.
Even though there is so much happening in the neighbourhood, it is quiet inside my apartment.
Ideally located close to a major shopping center and in one of the worlds best cities (my opinion).
My unit is located near the Riccarton shopping Mall only a 3 minute walk away.
12 mins bus ride from airport, 5 mins to the city.
Riccarton is the new city center while the city rebuilds after the earthquakes.
Plenty of options for transport as there are many bus lines that use Riccarton road and I have 2 good bikes available.
Biking is a very popular way to get around the city and there are many bike lanes.
The city and Hagley park are close and within walking distance, if you like waking.
The South Island of NZ has breath-taking scenery and there are many places of interest within a few hours drive.
Hanmer Springs with its hot thermal springs is 1.5 hours away, consider staying overnight.
Akaroa is a quaint French village is well worth a days visit, although is is a very windy road.
Kaikoura (whale watching) is nearby and is a good place to stop on the way to Picton or Nelson.
Christchurch is the gateway for the South Island and the largest city in the South Island.
The South Island has a mountain range running the full length of the West Coast of the Island (Southern Alps).
The South Island is ideal for outdoor activities (tramping, biking, fishing) or just enjoying the scenery, and taking lots of photos.
My name is Brian and I have been based in Melbourne (Australia) for the last 25 years.
I am unsure if I am an Australian or a New Zealander ... Perhaps both now.
I lived in South Africa for 6 years after leaving NZ in 1985, I loved SA, the people and the place.
I have traveled extensively but still want to see so much more.
I am a 58 yr old retired professional, working for engineering companies and involved in computers.
All house swap inquiries welcome and encouraged.
Plan to eventually settle in Christchurch perhaps when I finish traveling in 15 years.
Non smoker and do not drink alcohol very often.
Love to travel and would consider any destination for a house swap.
Swaps ranging from 1 week to 12 weeks considered although 3 to 4 week swaps are ideal.
Like walking, tramping-hiking, fly fishing, photography and anything outdoors, not golf though.
Understand computers and technical things and I do have too many gadgets.
I like to walk and often spend the whole exploring new areas walking around.
Typically I am a solo traveler, although I love to meet house swappers and new people.
I am very easy going and relaxed... stress does not enter my life very often.
I will look after your home and treat it as my own, leaving it just as I find it.
I like to combine several house swaps into one holiday and travel from 6 to 9 months per year.
I have already completed many house swaps and references are available.
