Our house is a beautiful old town house, built in 1896 and fully renovated in 2009. When we bought the house, almost all historic details were still available and off course we kept as many details as possible, but also modernized it to the current standards. The house is in a quit street with many families with young children.
The house has a small front garden with nice morning sun and garden in the back (9 x 6 meters), with a dining table, a BBQ area and a lounge bench.
On the ground floor there is the living area separated by antique sliding doors from the open kitchen / dining room. In the kitchen 90 cm prof gas stove, big oven, microwave, dishwasher and various kitchen machines. There is a small cellar under the kitchen. In the hallway there is a toilet.
On the first floor there are two large bedrooms. One is used as study but has a comfortable double-bed/couch. There is a spacey bathroom with shower and separate bathtub. On the hallway again a toilet and a walk-in closet.
On the second floor there are two large bedrooms with beds for young children, a second bathroom with bathtub and toilet and a washing-room.
We like very much the contrast of an historic house and contemporary furniture. We also like art and our house is full with modern art paintings. The house is situated in the centre of The Hague. It is a 15 minute walk to the city centre and a 20 minute walk to the beach. There is public transport on 2 minutes walking distance of the house to any location. It takes you 10 minutes by tram to the train station. By train you are within 1 hour in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht. And even in 2,5 hours you are in the centre of Paris!
But, there are two bikes available, so the most convenient and easy way move in the area is the Dutch way: By bike!
There are several supermarkets within walking distance of the house, but there are also very much local deli's which sell fine bread, cheese, meat, wines, ..........

We are a family with 2 young kids. Marieke is 40, Human Resource Manager for a large company, Martin is 47 and owner of a multimedia production company. Merijn is our oldest son of 4 and Mink is 2 years old.
Marieke and Martin have travelled extensively and love to see and experience the world. We also love to cook, so there is plenty of kitchen-stuff available.
We have one old cat. She is very sweet for children. She needs some food, but is very calm and sleeps a lot. We are happy to take care of your pets!
Our house is very important to us and we put much effort in it. We like to take good care of our things and will treat other houses as our own!
We have never swapped houses, but during our travels, we had people in our houses several times. We are a family with 2 young kids.
