Our pied-a-terre in The Hague was built in 1932 and used to be a 4-room apartment. It was already converted to a 2-room unit when we bought it. The long hall-way brings you into the charming L-shaped living-dining room with a beautiful view. In the sitting area we have a Queen-size sofabed which sleeps one person comfortably (or two small children). The bedroom has a King-size bed and large dresser/cupboard for storage. The toilet is seperate from the small shower room which also holds the washer and dryer. In the kitchen you will find all the modern appliances you need for comfortable living. The kitchen gives access comes to a small balcony. In the basement we have 2 sturdy Dutch bicycles.

The apartment is located in the best party of The Hague called; Benoordenhout. We are very close to the beach and close to big cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam. By bicycle it takes about 15 minutes to go to Scheveningen (seaside) or to the center. Public transportation is around the corner. The Hague is very international, with beautiful old buildings, Museums, historical sites, gouverment buildings, the Peace court is close to our apartment as well as many nice restaurants. On walking distance you will find restaurant 'Lof der Zotheid' a favorite place to eat by our future King: Crown-Prince Willem-Alexander. There is a small shopping center at The Hoytema Street and there you will find everything you need from food to clothing. May be you will encounter our Queen Beatrix as her Palace is not far away. We are a semi-retired couple. Frank (72) former VP of a big Dutch multinational and Willemijn (68) journalist. We are looking for an exchange with a similar apartment in downtown Toronto in the summer of 2012. We used to live in Toronto, have many friends there and we love the city. We moved back to Europe to be close to our children and grand-children. Our permanent residence is our house with 5 airconditioned bedrooms, 96 square meters living/dining room, on a plot of approx. 3000 square meters in Belgium close to Antwerp/Brussels (2 1/2 hours from Paris). We closed an exchanged with our Belgium house for the summer of 2012 and are now looking for an apartment exchange for 2013.
