Description of our house
Our 17th century town house is situated in the historic centre of Utrecht right next to the famous canals. Our house is build around 1605 AD on the ruins of a monastry from the 12th century. Although it is fully restored and has all the comforts of the 21st century it still has several characteristic features, like a marble fireplace, 4.5 meter high ceiling with wooden beams, different levels and a lovely town garden that will make your stay unforgettable.

Our neighborhoodOur house is situated right in the old medieval centre of the city of Utrecht and therefore you can explore the inner city with the Dom Tower and the Cathedral, with it's pleasant atmosphere,by foot. Utrecht is famous for its outdoor cafés along the old canals. In the Museum city district you can find a wide variety of museums and galleries. Utrecht is als a very good place for shopaholics, you find all the shops by foot. Utrecht has a sparkling nightlife. For those who like to go out, there are many cafés, discos and clubs. Hungry? Lovers of excellent food can find their pleasure in one of the many restaurants from all over the world, from small bars serving food to exclusive restaurants. The City of Utrecht is located in the heart of the Netherlands so whatever destination you choose in Holland it's never more then an hour away. Utrecht is also an important railway interchange. The trains from and to Amsterdam and Schiphol airport go twenty-four hours a day and only take 20 minutes.

Something about ourselvesExchange summer 2009 or long weekends! Hi, we are are Eric and Anne. Eric Bouter(30)is a marketeer at an international company and Anne Toxopeus(28) is a dental hygienist who studies dentistry at the University of Amsterdam. We enjoy life to the fullest and love to explore new destinations. Two years ago we settled down in Utrecht after travelling around the world. We love new places and are really interested to exchange houses and give you the opportunity to experience the Dutch way of living in Utrecht. We already had some great exchanges!
