Our wonderful villa was built in 1937 under architectural design. It has been renovated in 2002 so that it is spacious and practical but with a lot of style.
The villa is enclosed in a lovely private, fenced, garden of 4000 m2.
In the garden you will find a natural swimming pond, teak furniture, a table tennis table, an abundance of flowers and plants, a wooded area with swing and sand box for the children.
On our covered veranda you will enjoy the morning sun, sipping your coffee/tea, or enjoy your meal, overlooking our beautiful garden and swimming pond.
Our home is featured in the book with the title: The Homeexchangeguru.com Guide to Trading Your Home, in the March 2010 issue of Lux Women in Portugal and in June 2011 in 2 (national)news papers

The village Bilthoven (founded in the year 1113, the great grandfather of Cornelius Vanderbilt was a farmer here) is a tree-lined town with 22.000 citizens in the Province Utrecht.
Just minutes from our home you will find possibilities for shopping (all the daily needs and some attractive stores), walking, biking, swimming, golfing, dining. There is also a train station.
Our home borders a nature reserve that you can reach by foot in only a couple of minutes.
A bicycle path runs in front of our door.
The Province of Utrecht is a wonderful place to spend your holiday because of the wealth of nature and culture, together with dozens of recreational options.
The Utrecht Heuvelrug (National Parc) is perfect for a walk through the woods or a bicycle ride through nature.
Another recreational option is the Vecht lake area, surrounded by beautiful greenery and a favourite of water sports enthusiasts.
In addition to all this nature, you’ll find centuries-old cities like Utrecht and Amersfoort, full of hidden surprises.
The province of Utrecht also boasts more castles and country seats than any other province of Holland. There are numerous forts, rural estates, castles and country seats, which can be visited. Near Bilthoven you can visit Groeneveld Castle in Baarn, Zeist Castle, Huis Doorn Castle, De Haar Castle in Haarzuilens, Zuylen Castle in Oud-Zuilen, Fort Vechten and Fort Rhijnauwen both in the city Utrecht.
The Province of Utrecht is in the centre of The Netherlands. Because of this central position you can travel the whole country of The Netherlands quite easily.
Some examples are:
The medieval city of Utrecht (one of the four biggest cities in Holland) : 10 minutes by car/25 minutes by bike/7 minutes by train: culture and history (Dom (cathedral) tower, several museums) , KidZcity (play paradise for children) , shopping, canal cruises and canoeing in the city-canals, pubs, restaurants, theatre, film and so on.
Zeist: 10 minutes by car/25 minutes by bike: Zeist Castle, shopping, film and theatre, swimming-pool (outside en inside) .
Amersfoort: 20 minutes by car/10 minutes by train: culture and history, shopping, nature, Amersfoort Zoo.
Amsterdam: 50 minutes by car. The most colourful city in Holland. The Hermitage, Madame Tussauds, Artis Zoo, Anne Frank House, Royal Palace, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Opera, the world famous Royal Dutch Concert Orchestra, The Albert Cuypmarket, canal cruises, and lots and lots more.
The Hague: by car in 55 minutes. The Hague and environment: our residential city, the buildings of parliament, theatre, The North Sea shore with its sand beaches, casino,
Madurodam, Duinrell, Sealife and also a lot more.
Waalwijk: by car in 1 hour. The Efteling, one of the big amusement parks in Europe.
These are just some examples but there is a lot more to see in The Netherlands.
But it is also possible to visit our neighbour countries Germany (cities of Düsseldorf, Cologne) and Belgium (cities of Antwerp, Brussels) .
And a 3,5 hour train ride even takes you to Paris. The village Bilthoven (founded in the year 1113, the great grandfather of Cornelius Vanderbilt was a farmer here) is a tree-lined town with 22.000 citizens in the Province Utrecht.
