Our house is the middle part of an old (1880) characteristic, white, former farmhouse and village bakery in a quiet, green neighborhood, and situated on the "green". In the livingroom we have an oak floor and woodburning stove, there is a separate convenient kitchen, a small but nicely decorated wooden bathroom with bath and shower. A design studio in the back of the house is overlooking a sheltered garden with trees, lawn, pond and patio (weber barbeque) Upstairs 2 bedrooms with double beds (130x200) and more open space . Wooden floors in all the rooms. Vintage, designer and handmade furniture. We love our house, but you will have to see if our style suits you. We don't care that much about luxury, but we like style and comfort our way and spend a lot of time designing, choosing colours and decorating. We have "Hot Air" central heating, very comfortable and no radiator in sight!
Front overlooking a village park. On the other side of the park we have our organic vegetable allotment with plums, raspberries, lots of herbs and vegetables. House is not practical for the elderly or the young, steps and staircases might be dangerous. Since we don't have any children the house is not really childproof and you would have to convince us to accept children under 6 years.(babies would be easier) Wireless network installed, so you can bring your own laptop. Muiderberg; small, former seaside village (in the 30's the sea was transformed in a huge lake, IJsselmeer) Our house is on the village green and you walk easily within a minute into a lovely wooded area next to the waterfront. Naardermeer, Hollands oldest nature reserve is less than 1 km away. Muiderberg still has a beach with harbor where you can swim, sail, kayak in our own 2-pers kayak, try windsurfing or just enjoy drinks or food in our "sea"side restaurant. Bakery, butcher, greengrocer and supermarket are among other shops and 4 restaurants a stone's throw away in the village. Beautiful rivers, nature reserves, forests, heather in the neighborhood. Something special in the heavy built up area around Amsterdam.
A brand new golfcourse and health resort on the waterfront is 1.5 km away. We are only 17 kilometers from the center of Amsterdam, every half hour the bus leaves to a trainstation nearby or a main station in Amsterdam
( which saves you the ¤5,- per hour parking fee in Amsterdam). Motorway is 1 km away. There are other pretty cities and villages around, the area is renowned for its beauty, endless cycle and walking possibilities. A famous castle is in the next beautiful, old, riverside city, Muiden. There is the possibility of using our car and bicycles. We are; Thijn, female, former Waldorf School Arts teacher, now designer/silversmith, working from home. Klaas, male, musician and working for an independent record company, endforties, together for nearly 25 years. Snorrie, sweet little doggie, we would like to take her on our trips, but she could stay with friends if that's a problem. We have 2 easy cats who have to be taken care of when we are away.(It means only feeding(no tins, only dry food), they go in and out themselves) We are absolutely in love with our house and village. We like to share what we have. We are interested in nature, environment, art, reading, architecture, design, music, food. We try to live environment friendly. We don't smoke.We are quiet people and we would treat your house like ours, very careful.
We would love to swap houses for a long weekend or week in a city or a longer period close to the sea, waterfront or nature.
