Situated in a quiet street in the quartier Latin of Amsterdam, you will find this beautiful two story apartment. The wooden floors and the use of warm colours give the apartment an intimate and cosy atmosphere. At the ground floor you will find a comfortable living area with a big open and state of the art design equipment. An important part of the kitchen is the island with the bar, including two high chairs. The perfect spot for your morning newspaper and a coffee or a glass of chilled wine while preparing dinner.
There is a big classic dining table on the front side of the apartment with streetview. On the backside you will find the TV lounge with a large comfortable couch and chair, and a flatscreen TV (digital television). Also there is a (wireless) docking station for your ipod/iphone/ipad for high quality music.
The bedroom and bathroom are downstairs at the romantic souterrain. The bathroom is equipped with a sink, shower and whirlpool. The cosy bedroom has a kingsize boxspring and walk in closet. In the front of the souterrain there is a second room, which could be used as a second bedroom with an inflatable arrowbed (for two persons/children).
At the backside of the house we have a beautiful garden with lots of different plants, flowers and fresh herbs, raspberries and tomatoes. There is also a Weber BBQ that can be used. Our apartment lies in the middle of de Pijp, known as the quartier Latin of Amsterdam. A very energetic area with lots of variety, different cultures and all sorts of people such as students, young families and pensioners. Our street is very quiet but you will find many bars, good restaurants and all sorts of shops just around the corner, and all on walking distance.
The famous Amstel river is right in front of the door so from your door step you can see some of the characteristic houseboats that Amsterdam is famous for or enjoy one of the great terraces on the banks of the river.
We live very close - walking distance 5 minutes - to the most popular day market of Holland, the Albert Cuyp market. Other famous highlights on walking distance are the Rijksmuseum, van Gogh museum and Heineken brewery. If you would like to explore more of the city, we have a tram stop in front of the door and we have two bikes available for you to explore this wonderful city.

We have a sweet, well behaving dog (a three-year old Rhodesian Ridgeback) that we like to bring along on trips but if preferred, we have many friends that will take her during a home exchange. We will not leave her at home during a home exchange.
