Rare retreat.
Our home is located in a quiet village north of Amsterdam. It is a newly built home fully equipped with all conveniences. There are two upstairs bedrooms, a bathroom upstairs and downstairs, and three separate toilets. There is a seperate dining (not pictured) to entertain guests. The new German quality Siemens kitchen has granite benches, two ovens and induction cooking. A large sunroom overlooks the gardens and orchard (maintained by gardener). We have two patios, one next to the stream that borders our property. There is ducted floor heating and triple insulated walls + windows for the cold winter months.
Our home is very comfortable and secure, in a quiet safe street. The house is best suited to a couple or family, but could accommodate two additional guests in our rear guesthouse.
We have a magnificent piano that you are free to practice on. Broadband and Wifi throughout the house. There are bikes for use in our garage. Exchange of our 2011 Skoda Superb is optional. The train station connecting the region to the dense Dutch/European rail system is about 2km away. Rare retreat.

We live in a small town near to the historic cities of Enkhuizen and Hoorn – well worth a visit for their iconic 17 century town centres and their local bars and restaurants. The house is on a quiet street, approximately 100 metres from the IJsselmeer lake. There are cycle paths in every direction (it is the Netherlands after all).
Amsterdam is easy to reach by train (about 50 min) or by car (40min). The region is breathing Dutch history; ranging from early ‘polders’ (15th century waterworks), VOC towns, and quaint small fishing villages. The North sea and sand dunes are less than an hour drive away to the West. If you enjoy cultural outings: there are plenty of famous museums and concerts in one of the many cosy churches.
The Netherlands has a dense rail system that makes all major cities easy to reach. Amsterdam is about 50min by train, with high speed connections to London, Paris and Berlin for a mid-week getaway. Germany or Belgium would be a couple of hours by car. We have an adult daughter who moved to Perth two years ago whom we would love to visit. She lives in a tiny Crawly apartment that is too small to accommodate three people. Hence our idea to try a house swap. Our other daughter lives with her husband in Amsterdam.
We are looking for simultaneous swaps. No pets. Non-smokers. We are always happy to discuss your wishes via email or Skype as we get to know each other.
