Description of our house

Our penthouse is situated on the 6th floor in the centre of Amsterdam. We love our home with our large sunny terrace (45m2). The terrace is situated on the south side of our home, so there is a lot of sun. You can bbq on it and enjoy the sun from 9 am until 10 pm. The view is briljant, you can see the Westertoren from the terrace and a large piece of the old centre of Amsterdam. The living room has four windows and two doors on the terrace side so there is also a lot of sun comming in our room. We also have a fireplace wich we adore. There is enough wood for you that you can use in case you want to use the fireplace. There is an elevator from the first floor to our floor. The house is situated on a square near a canal and cars are not allowed on this square so children can play save. The house has also three bedrooms and a bathroom with bath and seperate shower.

Our neighbourhood is nice and quit although it is the centre of the city. It was built in the beginning of the 19th century and it is now one of the most popular areas of Amsterdam. Within walking distance you'll find Het Westerpark, an enormous park with outdoor sport facilities, swimmingpool for children, animal farm for children and a lot of space for a picknick or just for enjoying the sun and nature. There are a lot of restaurants. From a pizzaria on the square downstairs to more luxureous restaurants in the Jordaan. There is also a gym and a lunchroom on the square. Something about ourselves

We are a family of four; Joshua, Fenneke, Bas (13) Daan (10). We both work in the cultural sector (music and dance) as production managers. After a succesfull first exchange with a family from Berlin this summer (2011) we are looking forward for a next exchange in the summer of 2012.
