The northern part of Amsterdam is separated from the city by water. You need to take a two minute ferry trip (free, 24/7) to get there or take the car tunnel which is very close to our house. Walking to the ferry takes 15 minutes, cycling about 5. On the other side of the water you're right in the city centre and you can easily reach lots of shops, clubs, restaurants, musea etc. But close by,in the neighbourhood still in the Northern part of Amsterdam we have some very nice restaurants and terraces. The main train station with direct connection to the airport (15 minutes)is directly at the ferry terminal. Supermarket within 100 mtrs. Shopping mall five minutes by car or bicycle. Within a 10 minutes bike ride you're out of the city in a beautiful rural area with pitoresque villages with wooden houses in a green Dutch landscape.
