Description of our house
It is a lovely house with a big garden (total 800 m2). Sleeps at least 8. It is situated in dead-end part of the a street. It has a living and a seperate television/playroom. There are lots of childrens toys and bikes for all ages available. The kitchen is furnished with a all the modern needs and a dining-table. On the first floor there are four (bed-)rooms and a bathroom. Then there is a attick with another bedroom. The house is "freestanding". In the back of the garden is a chickenshed. Fresh, free-range eggs :-)

Our neighborhoodThe neighbourhood is a quiet one. It is a dead-end part of a road with only 7 houses. No direct traffic in front of the house. Hoorn is situated on a big lake called the IJsselmeer and has a busy harbour, especcially in the summertime. Past the city runs a highway wich takes you directly to Amsterdam and the rest of the country. Sandy beaches of the North Sea only 30 min. away. There are quit a few themeparks and zoo's close by. There are quite a number of golfcourses within 15 minutes of the city. The city center is a 7 minuteswalk as is the trainstation. Supermarket is even closer. Hoorn is a very nice historic town (in 2007 it celebrated it's 650th birthday)with 70.000 inhabitants. It has a very nice city center with lots of shops,bars, restaurants and old buildings. It's only 30 minutes by car from Amsterdam and 35 minutes from Schiphol airport. If you want to take the train, 35 minute ride takes you into the center of Amsterdam and the trains have a direct connection to the airport.

Something about ourselvesWe are a family of seven. Father, mother and five children (3 boys and 2 girls) in the age from 4 to 11. Fathers occupation is a CFO for a wine-importing company, a keen golfer who would love to play a few rounds, and mother is a speechtherapist in the local hospital. I think we are a happy family.
