Our house was newly built three years ago. It has three floors with a total of five bedrooms and one study room. The garden/terrace is enclosed and very well suitable for small children. We converted our garden shed into a nice place to sit at a table, which gives a lot of shade in summer.
The kitchen is fully equipped, with dishwasher, fridge, oven, microwave oven and gas-fire stove. There is also a Quooker tap which gives hot boiling water instantly. On our internet radio you can listen to all radiostations worldwide that broadcast livestream.
In the study room on the first floor there is a computer with broad band internet. We have wireless internet, so you can use your own notebook or iPad/iPod if you wish to do so. Apart from the study room there are five bedrooms with six places to sleep (one double bed). We use one bedroom on the second floor as a small living room, but it can also be used as a separate bedroom.
The house is isolated to the latest standards, so in summer all of the house is nice and cool, especially downstairs. In winter the house is heated by central heating. In the bathroom there are two washbasins, a bath, a separate shower and a toilet. The bath is quickly filled with hot water.
The halls and the bedroom at the front of the house take a nice view on the city and the trains that pass by slowly (close to the railway station). Because the house lies at a quiet street and also because it is very well isolated, there is little street noise and you hardly hear the trains.
We have two well-maintained bikes to use equipped with good seats for children, so you can easily enjoy a nice ride into the town of Groningen or go out for a day trip into the countryside. Our house lies in a quiet quarter in the centre of the town. We live close to the central railway station and bus station. Our house was newly built three years ago together with a number of other houses. They are all located around a well kept garden or courtyard in which children can freely play. Together with all the neighbours we make sure the garden and play ground are kept well in order. We have three parking places in front of the house which belong to us, so you will always be able to park your car.
Because our house is in the centre of Groningen (180.000 inhabitants), we enjoy all facilities that a good town has: only a few minutes away from the main shopping streets, places to go out like cinemas, theatres, restaurants, museums (such as the famous Groningen museum opposite the railway station), swimming pool (very suitable for children), etcetera, etcetera. By car (and also by public transport) you can quickly reach other destinations in our area. There are many cultural and historical sites to visit. Also a one or two day's trip to the island of Schiermonnikoog, just north of the province of Groningen, is something you can enjoy very much. Groningen lies in the north of Holland, 185km/115 miles north-east from Amsterdam. Furthermore there are many possibilities for bicycle tours, both in and outside the city.
There is lots more to write about Groningen (town and province both have the same name). For more information please check the following sites to find out:

We are a family of five: Clarence (father- 54 yrs old), Daphne (mother 50 yrs old), our two daughters (Sarah (23) and Laura (17)and our son Patrick (21). We also have a lovely cat (7).
I myself (Clarence) work as a civil servant with a local community: policy making in communication. Daphne is a caretaker in a children's day nursery. Sarah (our eldest daughter) attends college and stays with us during the weekends, and Laura (our youngest daughter) attends secondary school. Our son has a regular job in food delivery. Some hobbies we have are singing and sports. We are a family of five: Clarence (father- 54 yrs old), Daphne (mother 50 yrs old), our two daughters (Sarah (23) and Laura (17)and our son Patrick (21).
