Our home is a very large, white Mies van der Rohe like villa, with a big garden in Piet Oudolf style, on a small peninsula, at the end of a cul-de-sac. The villa is luxerious and clean, suitable for people with asthma, with a private sauna, a jacuzzi in the children's bathroom and a jacuzzi / Turkish steam bath in the master bedroom.
Three of the four bedrooms on the topfloor have their own balcony, the fifth bedroom on the ground floor has a glass sliding door to the garden and the water.
On the ground floor we have our office, with two extra toilets.
If you think the house is too big you can decide not to use this part, it has it's own entrance.
The ground floor has also a bathroom and an appartment (fifth bedroom) with one extra bed, bathroom in Hamam style and an extra washing machine (watch the movie). The garage is suitable for several cars (watch the movie). Feel free to borrow our stationcar, the Volkswagen Phaeton, the scooter or Jaguar XJ V12 during your stay. Off course we also have several bicycles and a canoe. The garden has also a big trampoline.
We have a high speed internet connection (15 Mbsp down, 7 Mbps up).
Everywhere in the house you can listen to your own music via the B & O system (Beosound 8).
For the kids there is a private little beach in the garden (we also have four lifejackets), on the first floor there is also a nice playroom in safari style. On the first floor the kitchen is situated (45 m 2), two toilets (one for the kids), a t.v. room/family room with wii, library (with lots of books in English) and a grand piano, the playroom, the laundry room and a living room (64 m2 / 700 sq. feet), a big fireplace with remote control (watch the movie). There are also two very large balconies on the first floor (150 m2). All the spaces (except the playroom off course) have big sliding doors to the balconies. The second floor has four bedrooms, two of them are 25 m2, one is 8 m2 (this room has a bunk bed) and the master bedroom is 60 m2 (including gym and walk in closet).
Staying fit is easy; there is a indoor bike, a cross trainer and a rowing machine.
And if you want to go to a bigger one: the fitness center is 200 steps away, at the other side of the street.

Friesland is one of the northernmost provinces of the Netherlands and elected as the most beautiful one. It is bounded on the west, southwest, and north by water, and on the east and south by other provinces. It has an area of 1,297 square miles (3,357 square kilometers). In addition to the waters of its long coastline, Friesland has some thirty inland lakes. Friesland's population is approximately 600,000 people.
We live close to the central freeway roundabout which gives you physical high speed access to all directions by car. The IJsselmeer is about 30 kilometers away and is a huge fresh water lake with ample sailing opportunities. Joure boasts to have about the best air quality in the Netherlands, thanks to the proximity of this lake. It used to be the home for sanatoria for people recovering from tuberculosis.
Joure is a beautiful nautical place, with lots of summer-tourists in the center. It is a very historical place, the horse market dates from 1466. It has about 13.000 inhabitants. It is an hour driving from Amsterdam, 70 minutes to Utrecht and less than two hours driving from The Hague. Schiphol airport is approximately 1 hour driving, Eelde Airport is about 40 minutes driving.
The location is very central in Friesland, it is one of the wealthiest areas of the country, and we live very close to several National Parks and the Wadden Sea World Heritage. We will provide you all the information you need, and we can make reservations for the best restaurants in the country if you like to dine out.
The house is surrounded by water, horse lanes, bikinglanes and woods, but you will also find a lot of autheantic stores at a short distance. Our neighbourhood is very upscale, and all the neighbours will help you if you need any help. In the morning the frogs will wake you up, and you will see all kinds of rare birds surrounding the house. When you are awake very early you might even see deers. The water quality is excellent, you can swim in the water in the summer. The Frisian Lakes are very well known, and Joure is also well known for its hot air balloon festival in July There are a lot of golfcourts in Friesland, three in our direct surrounding, an indoor ski-piste is very nearby, and so is the indoor Ice skating stadium (you can also take lessons ice skating there). Joure has also a large public indoor and outdoor swimmingpool, and several tennis lawns. Ski- and sports equipment is available, feel free to use it.
If you want to take your handicapped mother, an au-pair, nanny or a staff member this house is very convenient. They can live on the ground floor, with their own bathroom, their own kitchen, garden and own toilets. This area is suitable for handicapped people, there are no obstacles at all. The other part of the house has two stairs. Doctor, dentist and hospital are all very nearby. Three of Holland's top rated hospitals happen to be relatively close to our house (the closest one is just 10 miles out).

We both are hardworking entrepreneurs (very down to earth) with a 5 year old girl and an au-pair. Several reasons to go to the Netherlands: the country is very safe, the police is very friendly, there is no corruption at all, and 8 out of 10 people speak English quite well.

Our daughter is well raised and is used to having beautiful furniture around, you don't have to be afraid that she might break something.
We also own a house in Germany , Harz area and also World heritage (Quedlinburg), five hours driving from our place. At this moment we are working on it, but it will be ready in the summer of 2012. It is a monument (17 th century). You can use this house also if you want to travel around.
We are also interested in a long term exchangce (6 months) in California. Less than a week is not ideal for us, it causes to much cleaning stress because we really want to leave your house in a perfect way.
